WORX Cordless Blower 20V – Review
- 1. Performance - 10/1010/10

1. Performance: 10/10
Considering that the WORX battery blower is operated with a 20V battery it boasts an impressive air volume from 225cfm to up to 340cfm at 60-90 mph. As a result the tool is more than capable of keeping your lawn, porch and gutters clean of leaves a smaller debris.
The WORX cordless leaf blower also comes with two speed settings controlled via the speed control function easily reached with the thumb of the operating hand. On the first setting of the speed control function you can reach an air velocity of 60 mph and an air volume of 225 cfm. Using the second setting will get you up to 340cfm at 90mph. This high setting can be compared to the lower settings of some 40V operated leaf blowers. In addition to the two standard settings a hyper-stream air nozzle is included to ensure maximum air propulsion.
2. Ergonomics: 7/10
The WORX cordless leaf blower weighs 5.7 pounds (standalone). The weight of the complete kit, including the battery is over 6 pounds making it a bit heavier than other devices of the 18- to 20V category, for example the Black + Decker cordless blower 20V MAX or the Makita Cordless Blower 18V LXT. However, the WORX cordless blower has an ergonomic design. You can easily hold it in one hand – but be sure to firmly hold it with both hands when initially turning it on.
And the tool comes with even more features. Firstly, the large dial for changing the settings is easily reached and can be flipped while operating the blower. Secondly, the design and weight distribution is balanced sparing your writs from excessive strain. Thirdly, for convenience of storing and cleaning, the turbine nozzle can be removed by pressing the clip on the side of the nozzle. However, the top noise level is at 99 decibel so we recommend ear protection.
3. Battery- & charging technology: 7/10
The WORX battery blower can be operated by any WORX 20V lithium-ion, including batteries that have different capacities of ampere hours. The ampere hour rating measures how much energy can be stored in the battery. The 2.0 Ah battery should give enough power to work on approximately a quarter acre yard. The 4.0 Ah battery will store twice the amount of energy and thus double the run time.
The runtime of the battery included in the standard package (2.0 Ah) is between only 5 minutes, when using the highest setting continuously and 18 minutes when using the lowest setting without break. If you use, for example, a 4.0 Ah battery, the run times are nearly double. This may not sound like much time, but from a user’s perspective, it’s rare to use the highest setting for more than a minute.
It takes around 5 hours to fully charge the battery with the standard charger. However, using a WORX quick charger will reduce the charging time to one to two hours depending on the battery size. Since two batteries are included in certain deal packages, a dual-port (standard or quick charger) can make a great addition to the household.
Compatibility with other 20V devices from WORX:
With the WORX PowerShare System, you can share the battery of all tools powered by the same voltage battery. So the 20V leaf blower from WORX can use any WORX 20V battery you already have.
4. Scope of delivery & price: 10/10
WORX offers various package deals for all its tools and machines including the WORX cordless blower. As mentioned before, you can simply purchase the tool without any accessories or battery, should you already posses some WORX 20V batteries, and thus save money.
