Snapper Cordless Leaf Blower: Tool Review & Comparison

Snapper currently has two 82 Volt cordless leaf blowers in its collection of electric products. In this article, we provide an overview of the two tools. We start with a detailed review of the Snapper 700 CFM Cordless Leaf Blower in the first chapter and evaluate the leaf blower based on performance, ergonomics, battery and charging technology. We also assess the scope of delivery and price of the tool. In the second chapter, we introduce the details of the other Snapper cordless leaf blower model (550 CFM). Lastly, we present the most important product specifications in chapter 3.

I. Snapper Cordless Leaf Blower 82V MAX – Review

The Snapper 82V MAX Cordless Electric Leaf Blower is a powerful garden tool perfect for clearing off debris after heavy trimming and pruning your yard. With its high-speed brushless motor, the 82V cordless blower can develop a fierce blast of air at a speed of 140 miles per hour (mph). It also produces a maximum airflow capacity of 700 cubic feet per minute (cfm).

Although the leaf blower weighs 16.5 pounds, which is slightly heavier than other cordless blowers, it features an adjustable battery harness that you can strap onto your waist to reduce arm as well as back fatigue. The Snapper cordless blower is compatible with any Briggs & Stratton 82V lithium-ion battery. The battery packs are available with capacities of 2.0, 4.0 and 5.0 ampere hours (ah).

1. Performance

The Snapper cordless blower features a turbo axial fan to deliver 700 cfm airflow at a speed of 140 mph. The axial fan produces a large volume of air and the required power to handle stubborn leaves as well as debris. Additionally, the tool is fitted with a trigger that allows you to adjust and control the speed of the leaf blower while performing your tasks. The variable speed trigger comes with the added advantage of making it easy to apply added pressure to specific areas.

2. Ergonomics

The battery blower offers great balance and support to handle tasks. It features a power grip design that enables you to hold the tool at a suitable angle. This helps you to clear stubborn leaves and litter with less effort. The device also has an adjustable battery strap. It can be strapped to your waist to reduce the weight of the leaf blower and lower fatigue.

3. Battery- & charging technology

snapper-cordless-leaf-blower-review Battery technology: The Snapper cordless leaf blower requires one 82V lithium-ion battery to operate. Running at 82 volts, this blower has one of the highest nominal operating voltages (72 Volt) on the market. This high voltage ensures faster battery charge as well as reduced power loss when cleaning debris. The cordless blower is compatible with different battery capacities from Briggs & Stratton which include 2 ah, 4 ah respectively 5 ah. The blower offers a runtime of up to 15 minutes when used with a 2 ah battery and up to 60 minutes when used with a 4 ah lithium-ion battery pack. These battery packs have convenient gauges to alert you to recharge the battery.

Charging technology: Snapper has two different 20V chargers: one regular charger and one dual-charging station. Both solutions have the same charging times. It takes about half an hour to fully recharge an empty 2 Ah battery while it takes 60 minutes for a full charge of a 4 Ah battery.

Compatibility with other 82V devices from Snapper: The 82V lithium-ion batteries and rapid charger discussed above can be used with other Snapper 82V electric products, for example cordless string trimmers, electric lawn mowers, chainsaws and others.

4. Scope of delivery & price

The Snapper cordless blower (700 CFM) is also sold at a reasonable price. It can be purchased on the Snapper company website and popular online stores, for example Amazon. You can either purchase only the tool if you have any of the 82V batteries and charger from Snapper or the full tool pack. The tool pack usually consists of the blower, a 4.0 ah battery and a rapid charger.

II. Snapper Cordless Leaf Blower 82V MAX (550 CFM)

As earlier stated in the introduction of this article, Snapper has two 82V leaf blowers in total. The Snapper 82V Cordless Leaf Blowers 700 CFM, which we presented above, as well as the Snapper Cordless Blower 500 CFM. Both models are pretty similar when it comes to the overall design, size, function as well as applied technology. However, both devices differ in terms of power as well as ergonomics.

The first notable difference between both power tools is their performance. On the one hand, the 700 CFM leaf blower has an airspeed of 140 mph and an air volume of 700 cfm. On the other hand, the 550 CFM blower only pales with a maximum airspeed of a 130 mph and a maximum airflow capacity of 550 cfm. The second notable different are battery ergonomics. As you already learned earlier in this article, the Snapper 700 CFM blower has a battery harness for your waist. With the Snapper blower 550 CFM, the battery is plugged into the tool as with other cordless blower solutions, for example the Black and Decker Cordless Blower LSW36B or the Makita Cordless Blower XBU 02Z.
